felt I was going crazy getting a new PB G4 to operate well enough to again sync my Sony Clie NX60 using the 10.3.8 upgrade. A kindly Apple tech walked me through lots of check of the hardware, systemware etc. then suggested I made sure Classic was turned ON through System Prefs. It was not. So...
turned it on, uninstalled my problem Palm Desktop and in my case, Missing_Sync. Just for good luck repaired permissions, and reinstalled Desktop, and then MS. Both finally installed without a whimper and surprise, I could sync for the first time in a week.

Thanks for the last post. I did repair all permissions which didn't seem to help. I then just reset the palm and it's synching again. Maybe i have a bad program on it. I'll keep you all posted on results after I load everything back on... one at a time.
